49 Friederikenschlösschen in Bad Langensalza
49 Friederikenschlösschen in Bad Langensalza
This charming little pleasure palace, built in the Rococo mansard style, owes its creation to the widow Duchess Friederike of Saxony-Weissenfels.
She had it constructed around 1750, located on the east side, just outside the city wall.
The building materials used for its construction were stones from the demolished Michaelis Chapel near the Berg Church.
The impressive central structure, with its coat-of-arms-decorated entrance portal, is flanked by two small pavilions, all surrounded by a well-maintained park.
Baroque elements can still be found both inside the little palace and in the surrounding park.
Currently, the rooms in the Friederikenschlösschen are used for cultural events, such as spa concerts and conferences.
Further details can be obtained through the tourist information office.
