23 Peasants‘ War Panorama in Bad Frankenhausen

One of the most significant battles of the German Peasants‘ War, the Peasant Battle on May 15, 1525, near Bad Frankenhausen, was portrayed in the Panorama Museum by Leipzig painter Werner Tübke.

Visitors can expect to see the largest oil painting in the world.

In 1987, after 12 years of work, Tübke completed one of the most spectacular and controversial projects in recent art history.

The artwork invites viewers to reflect on the entire era of the Reformation and Humanism.

The monumental painting, measuring 14 m x 123 m, is titled „Early Bourgeois Revolution in Germany.“
