12 Molsdorf Palace in Molsdorf
In the most southern district of the Thuringian capital Erfurt, visitors can discover Molsdorf Palace, built in the Baroque-Rococo style.
It was constructed around 1735 as a pleasure palace for Count Gustav Adolf von Gotter.
Thanks to his lively and gallant nature, he shaped the palace and park in his own vision of Sanssouci.
No later owner could break this enchanting spell.
The lavishly decorated rooms, where changing exhibitions and concerts take place, serve as silent witnesses to a glorious and magical past.
In the grand ballroom, adorned with Greek and Roman deities and countless paintings, the renowned Molsdorf Palace Concerts are held.
Even today, the large English-style garden, featuring sandstone sculptures and a serene pond, remains an oasis of tranquility and relaxation.
