119 Planetarium in Bad Salzungen
119 Planetarium in Bad Salzungen
Located beautifully by the Burgsee, the flat building with its dome is hard to miss.
It was constructed in 1983.
The heart of the planetarium is the projector, which was made by Carl Zeiss Jena in 1953, and is literally a piece of craftsmanship, with parts of it still assembled by hand.
Visitors can observe the artificial starry sky on a dome with a diameter of 8.0 meters and a height of 6.5 meters.
The planetarium regularly hosts events, and special events can also be arranged, such as for children’s birthdays or corporate events.
Under this starry sky, one can even enjoy a 4-course dinner, guaranteed with a clear starry night view.
For more details on events and offerings, you can contact the Volkshochschule Wartburgkreis, which operates the planetarium.
