11 Weapons Museum in Suhl
11 Weapons Museum in Suhl
In Suhl, the largest city south of the Rennsteig, the production of firearms has a long-standing tradition.
Since the mid-16th century, Suhl was considered the **“forge of Europe“** thanks to the craftsmanship of its artisans.
Today, a Franconian-Henneberg half-timbered house houses the **Suhl Weapons Museum**, a specialized museum dedicated to the history of Suhl’s firearms manufacturing.
The former malt house is one of the few remaining witnesses of the 17th century, documenting the city’s international reputation as the **“City of Weapons and City of Peace.“**
